Fwd: TAPS: 9-11 Remembrance

Dear Friends and Family,

In case you may have missed this, I participated in the series Invisible Casualties this week.

Today is a day when the thread of all our lives 12 years ago for a brief moment was in contact with each other. However the world has turned since, I am still struck with  the strength of those who chose service, including our precious son, Danny... TAPS says it better than I could below.

With love and respect to all, especially those of you who have chosen a life of service...

Andy & Julianne

A sunny September morning; we awoke to begin a new day.  Before the day was over, a nation was forever changed.

Images of the day are still fresh, twelve years later. Images of smoke and flames, of confusion and dread, images of bravery and heroism.  Our nation was shaken, yet our nation stood strong.

Much has been said and much will continue to be said about the events of September 11, 2001.  We search to find words to express what is in our hearts and minds.  We search for words to honor those who perished and those who went into harm's way to help their fellow man.

It is in the lives of those who died, of those who answered the call to action, and those who, because of the events of that day, have chosen to serve our nation that speak far more than we possibly could.

They are fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers. They are husbands, wives, and children.  They are our loves, our friends, our heroes.

On that day, the world witnessed the true fabric of America, the spirit and resolve of its people.  It is that spirit we commemorate.  It is that spirit we carry forward.

Today and always, we remember.

With Care and Love,

From Your TAPS Family
